Edith Risher

Edith Louise Risher, age 76 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020 in Beaumont, Texas. Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate Edith’s life and remember her legacy. Dorman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Edith was born in Keene, New Hampshire on November 12, 1943 to Fern H. Grund McNeal and Russell H. McNeal. She graduated from Henniker High School in 1961 and received her BS in 1965 from Keene State. She made her home in Orange, Texas and earned her master’s degree from Lamar State University. Edith was an elementary teacher for a number of years before becoming a case worker with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services for 29 years. After her retirement in 2011, she filled her days as a special education substitute teacher, helping with Orange Christian Services and taking care of her great grandchildren that she loved so much.

She is preceded in death by her husband Harry Risher and parents Russell and Fern McNeal.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Mark Lilback of Morgantown, WV and Kenneth Lilback and his wife Heather of Vidor, TX, sister Kathy Houghton of New Boston, NH, and three grandchildren: Morgan Theriot, Abby Johnson and Nathaniel Noe and her three great grandchildren: Carsen Theriot, Jacob Theriot and Dallas O’Bannon.
