Edward Joseph Coppage, age 85 of Silsbee, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at his home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 23, 2020 Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta, Georgia.
Edward was born on November 22, 1934 in Hahira, Georgia to Bessie Cain Coppage and Roy Marion Coppage. He moved from Valdosta, Georgia to Orange, Texas in 1967 to help open the paper mill and retired from Inland-Orange after 42 years of papermill service. Edward was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Silsbee. He enjoyed calling square-dancing for many years and loved dancing and music. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his camp at Toledo Bend, but what Edward enjoyed the most was spending time with his family that he loved so dearly.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn June Coppage, parents, Roy and Bessie Coppage, and siblings: Mary Nitschke, Ralph Coppage, Ethridge Coppage, Billy Jack Coppage and Ronald Coppage.
Those left to share his memory are his fiancé and caregiver Patsy Lamb of Silsbee, TX, three sons, Eddie Coppage and his wife Patricia of Deweyville, TX, Richard Coppage of Silsbee, TX and Tim Coppage and his wife Amy of Orange, TX. Brother Herman Coppage of Valdosta, GA, brother-in-law RB Nitschke and his wife Lucy, and sisters-in-law Gloria Coppage and JoAnn Coppage. Patsy's children: Patty Hatton and her husband Carroll, Tommy Jordan and his wife Pam and Julie Neubauer and her husband Wayne. Grandchildren: Alicia Higginbotham, Jerry Coppage, Lacy Coppage, Andrea Coppage Brazil and her husband Kris, Abigail Coppage, Mason Coppage, Brooks Jordan, Megan Ezell, Brittany Williams and her husband Scott, Katlyn O’Day and her husband Justin, Shelly Saulsbury and husband Rawden, Carlyn Nichols and her husband Zack, Tyler Neubauer and his wife Abby and Kylie Neubauer; as well as 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends that made his life complete.
