Edward Newcomer, age 77 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 in Port Arthur, Texas. A memorial service to honor Ed’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the home of Shavonn and Brady Fountain. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dorman Funeral Home.
Ed was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 11, 1944 to parents, Eleanor Hanlin Newcomer and Edward Newcomer, Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Ed was a dedicated employee of International Paper and retired after 38 years. He loved playing golf and traveling, especially with his children and grandchildren. He made many trips with his family to Disney and Hawaii. Ed was a wonderful father and grandfather, never missing ballgames or any of the kid’s activities. He could be hard and stubborn at times, but that only added to his strong character in which he will be lovingly remembered for. Ed will be greatly missed by all those he impacted with his love and friendship.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon Newcomer and his first wife Joyce Newcomer,
Those left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Shavonn Fountain and her husband Brady of Orange, TX, Paula Gagnon and her husband Gary of Buna, TX and Judi Rowell and her husband Mike of Mauriceville, TX, brother Jim Newcomer and his wife Brenda of Ohio, eight grandchildren; Leslie Anderson and her husband Brad, Paul Gagnon, Amanda Cloud and her husband Jason, Jake Rowell, Hunter Fountain and his wife McKenzie, Blayne Addison and husband Keeten, Bode Fountain and Camden Fountain, seven great grandchildren; Grayson Anderson, Eliza Anderson, Jaxton Cloud, Brantley Fountain, Allie Addison, Ava Addison and Kasen Addison, and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
