Elizabeth Clara Gryder, 94, of Orange, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Liz was born on July 1, 1924 to Clara and Otis Hargrave in Bakersfield, CA. She loved to watch and feed her birds, and she also loved to bass fish. Liz had a firm handshake and a bright smile, and she greeted everyone with her smile, coffee, and cake. In her later years she really enjoyed playing Skip-Bo every day. While Liz and her husband Bill have lived in the area for many years, they did live at Toledo Bend for 30 years. She was a member of Eastern Star, and the McLewis Church of Christ in Orange; Liz loved music and singing.
Liz is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Gryder; her parents, Clara and Otis Hargrave; brothers, Thomas Hargrave, and her twin, Leonard Hargrave.
Liz is survived by her children, Rose Coulter, and husband, Lee, of Orange, TX, and Billy Gryder, and wife, Nancy, of Orange, TX; grandchildren, Lynnette Fusilier of Portland, OR, Steven Fusilier of Orlando, FL, David Gryder of Orange, TX, and Darrin Gryder, and wife, Brandy, of Orange, TX; 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends.
The Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:00am at McLewis Church of Christ, 15497 FM 1442, Orange, TX 77632. A Life Honoring Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am at McLewis Church of Christ immediately following the visitation. Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange, TX.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be David Gryder, Darrin Gryder, Coby Coulter, Cole Coulter, Jagger Truitt, and Blake Bledso. Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Wilkerson, Bob McCoy, and Marty Gates.
