Ernest Cecil McGuire Fountain

Ernest “Pat” Cecil McGuire Fountain, age 80, of Orange, Texas, passed away Monday, March 23, 2020. A private service to honor the life and legacy of Pat will be held at Fountain Cemetery in Starks, Louisiana.

Pat was born on Friday, November 17, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas to parents, Freddie (Bussell) Fountain and Ernest C. Fountain. Pat was a lifelong resident of Orange, Texas after moving from Starks, Louisiana over 55 years ago. He loved spending quality time with his family, every chance that life allowed. When his sons, David, Jody, Brett and Brady were all playing sports as kids and teenagers, their dad attended every single game and almost every single practice as well. He was a very involved father in all aspects of his children’s lives, which in turn taught his sons to grow up and be the same wonderful men and fathers that he was. His boys were the light of his life, until the grandchildren and great grandchildren came along and he found out what unconditional love truly was. Throughout his lifetime, Pat continued to attend almost all of the LCM BEARS football and baseball games, as he thoroughly enjoyed just being there and watching the sport, even if he didn’t know a single soul that was on the field. He also enjoyed watching the horse races and loved to go fishing.

Pat was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Pat is survived by his loving children, David Bailey and wife Rustie, Jody Bailey and wife Susan, Brett Fountain and wife Elise, as well as Brady Fountain and wife Shavonn; sister, Faye Fountain Sanders; grandchildren, Caleb Fountain, Dillon Bailey, Damon Bailey, Hunter Fountain, Blayne Addison, Bode Fountain, Camden Fountain, Michael Gonzales, Tasha Gonzales, Jack Burke, Kolbiann Fountain and Danielle Perales; great-grandchildren, Cutler Fountain, Collier Fountain, Hadley Bailey, Harper Bailey, Wyatt Walden, Allie Addison, Ava Addison, Kasen Addison and Brantley Shaw.

Pat is preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Mary Ann Fountain; parents, Freddie and Ernest C. Fountain, as well as, brother, Robert Mike Fountain.
