Esmeralda Carlock, age 68 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in Sulphur, Louisiana. A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date to honor Esmeralda’s life.
Esmeralda was born in Kenedy, Texas on June 29, 1953 to parents, Cirilda Barrera Flores and Jose Flores, Sr. She worked for many years at Farmers Mercantile. She loved shopping trips and the thrill of finding the best sales. Esmeralda considered her family as a precious treasure and loved each and every one of them. She was always ready for an adventure with her family, whether it was a trip to Galveston or Tennessee…."We ain't left yet?” Her grandchildren captured most of her time and love, but she would not have had it any other way. Esmeralda will be forever remembered for her Diet Cokes with extra ice from Sonic and her napping abilities.
Esmeralda was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Carlock and parents, Jose and Cirilda Flores, and a brother Paul Flores.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Ola Conner and her husband John of Orange, TX, Angie Sanchez of Orange, TX and Eva Hernandez of Orange, TX, sons; Toby Dowden and his wife Leticia of Spurger, TX, Oliver Dowden of Spurger, TX and Jake Carlock and his wife Stacy of Orange, TX; brothers, Joe Flores, Jr., and his wife Rhenee of Dry Prong, LA and Jesse Flores and his wife Abbie of Orange, TX, fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, longtime friend Martha Nelson of Orange, TX and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
