Gary Wayne Cornell

Gary Wayne Cornell, age 67, of Orange, Texas, passed from this life on Thursday, July 8, 2021. A Memorial Gathering and to honor Gary’s life will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Arrangements were entrusted to, Dorman Funeral Home.

Gary was born in Orange, Texas on July 19, 1953 to John Roy Cornell and Mary Alice (Moore). He was a lifetime resident of Orange, Texas where he was known and loved by many. Gary enjoyed working on all kinds of things but in particular, he thoroughly enjoyed working on vehicles. He was also known to frequently host the best crawfish boils. The ones where everyone that was invited always showed up because they knew that Gary could truly cook some good crawfish and they weren’t leaving without some good laughs, as he was always a “cut-up”. Not only was he a great crawfish cook, but all around and in general, so long as he could cook it in his cast iron skillets. He also enjoyed going fishing on Lake Sam Rayburn, every chance that life allowed. Gary was a good man who loved the Lord and loved his children.  

Gary was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, John Ray Cornell and Mary Alice (Moore)

Those left to cherish his sons, Kristopher Cornell and Buddy Cornell; daughter, Crystal Crabtree; step-son, Keith Sterling; brothers, Mike Cornell, Jimbo Cornell and wife Mary; sisters, Joanna Bingham, Nina Blum and Kaye Sullivan and husband Wayne; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
