Gerald Wayne Hryhorchuk, SR, age 76 of Deweyville, Texas passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, July 17, 2020. Services to honor Gerald’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home with Rev. John Fortenberry officiating. Interment will follow at Deweyville Cemetery. Family and friends will gather for a visitation and sharing of memories from 5:00 Pm to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Gerald was born on April 15, 1944 in Deweyville, Texas to Enola Elizabeth Martinez Hryhorchuk and Pete Hryhorchuk . He worked as a welder in the shipyards for many years, but was a cowboy all his life. Gerald had a love for the outdoors and all that nature had to offer. He enjoyed horses and going on trail rides with family and friends. He was a wonderful cook, a friend, father, and grandfather that will truly be missed. Gerald was the true definition of a rough and tough cowboy that never left home without his cowboy hat and boots.
Gerald is preceded in death by his son, Gerald “Petey” Wayne Hryhorchuk, JR, wife Sharon Kay Melancon, parents Pete and Enola Hryhorchuk and brother, C.B. Roy Hryhorchuk.
Those left to cherish his memory are his grandson Justin Hryhorchuk and his wife Krislyn of Deweyville, TX, daughter Lisa Hryhorchuk Foster and her husband Joe of Deweyville, TX, brother James “Cricket” Hryhorchuk of Deweyville, TX, sister Linda Wilson of Deweyville, TX and grandsons, Stetson Hollingsworth and Dalton Marsh and great grandchildren; Petey Hryhorchuk, Gunner Hryhorchuk, Baelynn Burris and Kohen Burris as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers to honor Gerald will be Justin Hryhorchuk, Stetson Hollingsworth, Dalton Marsh, Jacob Burris, Keevin Gordon and Gary Gordon.
