Henry Wesley Horton

January 26, 1960 ~ July 12, 2020 (age 60)


Henry Wesley Horton was born on January 26, 1960 in DeQuincy, LA. He signed “off” of his “big rig” on July 12, 2020.  “Wes” known to his family and friends, was a hardworking man with the ability to befriend everyone who encountered him.     He was always a giver and never a receiver. He cherished the trucking community and with their loving response with us, we know they cherished him too. He was a jokester and if you were around him for any length of time you were going to laugh.  In his earlier years he was an auto mechanic in the Orange area for many years.  He loved his children with all his heart and soul along with his fur friend “Mister Monroe”.

Wes is survived by his daughter, Mallory Horton and son Michael Horton both of Hartburg.” Best friend” Debbie Horton also of Hartburg. Brothers, Paul Rose of Orange, TX, Kenny Horton of Springfield, TX and Garland (Bubba) Horton of Ft. Worth, TX. Sisters. Tonya Malone of Old Salem, TX, Jeanie Hyatt of DeQuincy, LA and Debra Diesslin of Haltom City TX.

He is preceded in death by his father Henry Horton, mother Gloria Rose, stepdad Edgar Rose, brothers Wayne Horton, Henry Allen Horton, Pat Horton, sister Joy Lynn Rose, and his beloved Maw Maw Clara Stanley.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange TX with Rev. Trevor Koonce and Rev. Paul Rose officiating. Interment will follow at King Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM for a visitation on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home.  Burial in King Cemetery in Hartburg.

Pallbearers will be Sean Horton (nephew), Debra Diesslin (sister), Dustin Rose (nephew), Tyler Linder (friend), Trey Berry (friend), and Branden Morgan (friend).

Honorary pallbearers: Jethro Gilpin, Dustin Bain, Dustin Seay, Chris Matthew, Alex, Ronald Oliver.

He also had many friends he knew and loved, including James & Lisa Spires, Chip Riley, Chopper, Wes Kelly, Jamie Welch, Hank Latta, Big Sam, Billy Gilmore, Buffy, Chris Powell, Cowboy, Hollywood, Evan, Frog, Jesus, Jack Brown, Hondo, Jerry Heaslet, John Boy, JT, Justin Williams, K.C., Lunch Box, Mud Duck, Neal, Papa, Sonny, William Wagner Jr., Tony Bevinetto, Danny Parsley, Benjamin Ross, Randy, and many many others.
