Ivey Robert Shepherd

Ivey Robert Shepherd, age 73, of Buna, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020. Graveside services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at King Cemetery in Hartburg, Texas.

Ivey was born on St. Patrick’s Day, Monday, March 17, 1947, in Buna, Texas to parents, Opal Irene (Cooper) and Albert Shepherd. Ivey was a lifelong resident of Buna, Texas and known by so many people. He loved spending quality time with his family, every chance that life allowed, as family was always his number one. Ivey was a very honest, caring and sincere man who always worked hard for everything he had. He made his living with the Texas Highway Department as a pusher foreman. He loved to go fishing anytime and just about anywhere he could wet a line. He also liked watching basketball, no matter what teams were playing. Ivey was also a Christian man who loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ivey was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Ivey is survived by his brothers, Jesse Earl Shepherd and wife Shirley, Henry Merle Shepherd and wife Sheila, as well as, Alfred Shepherd; sisters, Mary Ray and husband Bobby and Melda Joy Linquist, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Ivey is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Opal Shepherd; brother, Edmond Franklin Sheppard; sisters, Maggie Ellen Brewster, Della Mae Johnston and Alberta Irene Shepherd.
