James Alfred Norment, Jr

James Alfred Norment, Jr., age 77 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in Orange, Texas. Services to honor James will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Burn officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home.

James was born on September 20, 1943 in Poteet, TX to parents Katie Phillips Norment and James Alfred Norment, Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. James graduated from Lamar Institute of Technology as an electrician. He retired after many years of service from International Paper as an electrical supervisor. James loved the outdoors and spent a great deal of time hunting and fishing. He enjoyed collecting cars and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife Delores Ann Norment and his parents James and Katie Norment.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two children, James Norment III and his wife Grace of Round Rock, TX and Jodi Vela and her husband Carlos of Orange, TX, five grandchildren; Carli Davis (Tyler), Keely Vela (Bay), Matthew Norment , Emma Norment and LlynAnne Harmon, one great grandchild Leighton Davis and companion JoAnn Labove.

Pallbearers honoring James will be Tyler Davis, Bay Quebodeaux, Matthew Norment, Carlos Vela Miguel Vela and Chuck Their.
