Mr. James Edward "Cricket" Hryhorchuk, age 76, of Deweyville, Texas, passed away on Friday December, 10, 2021 in Orange, Texas.
"Cricket" was born August 23, 1945, in DeQuincy, Louisiana, to parents Pete and Enola (Martinez) Hryhorchuk and had been a lifelong resident of the Deweyville area. He worked several years as a rigger for Levingston Shipbuilding. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and was always ready lend a helping hand to anyone. He could fix anything.
He also had a great fondness for outdoor activities, especially horseback riding and enjoyed any opportunity to go on trail rides. He also loved gardening as well having done some fishing and hunting. Cricket was a very proud grandfather.
His survivors include his daughters, Stacia Hryhorchuk Cole and her husband, Robert W. Cole, of Mauriceville, Texas, and Stefanie Hryhorchuk Gilbert and her husband, Stephen Gilbert, of Mauriceville, Texas; grandchildren, Madison Cole, Raven Cole Harris, and Taylor Gilbert; a great-grandson, Jaxon Alexander Gilbert; and a sister, Linda Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Enola Hryhorchuk; and his brothers, C.B. Roy "Pepper" Hryhorchuk and Gerald Hryhorchuk.
Services are set for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Dorman Funeral Home chapel in Orange, Texas, with Bro. John Fortenberrry officiating. Interment will follow at Deweyville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Dorman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Stephen Gilbert, Robert W. Cole, Taylor Gilbert, Casey Harris, Gary Gordon, Justin Hryhorchuk, Eric Hryhorchuk, and Leonard "Bubba" Powell.
