James "Jimmy" Calliste Delome, age 81 of Orange, Texas, passed away at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas on Friday, May 27, 2022. Services to honor James life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home with Reverend Jay Thomas of MacArthur Heights of Orange officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born in Egan, Louisiana on October 25, 1940, he was the son of Julis Buck Delome and Olivia Kibodeaux Delome. He was a member of Orangefield High School Class of 1958. After high school he enlisted in the US Air Force and served his country for four years. He retired from Dupont after 35 years. Jimmy enjoyed bowling, crabbing, fishing and taking trips to various places. He loved spending time in the yard gardening. James never met a stranger, and he loved to visit with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Julis and Olivia Delome, siblings; JR Crader, Leona Delome Baily, Allen "Pecan" Delome, Joseph Delome, CJ Delome and Louis Delome and nephew Joseph Cupples.
He is survived by his brothers, Leon Delome (Marlene) of Orangefield, TX, Herbert Delome (Rita) of Orange, TX and sister Audrey Bertrand of Orange, TX, two special nieces, Margaret and Zelda Bertrand. He was loved by numerous nieces and nephews, plus great nieces and nephews.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Bo Henley, Steven Trevino, Roberto Castaneda, Russell Delome, Brother Jay Thomas, Randy Hebert, Mark Jones and Mike Salazar.
