James "PEEWEE" Hutson, SR.

James Edward “PEEWEE” Hutson, Sr., age 79, of Orange, Texas, passed from this life on Friday, April 28, 2021 in Port Arthur, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, with Brother Jim Phillips officiating services. Family and friends will gather for visitation from 12:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow services at, Evergreen Cemetery in Orange, Texas. Services are under the direction of, Dorman Funeral Home.

PEEWEE was born in Anahuac, Texas on Sunday, October 5, 1941, to Essie (Matthews) and Lester Grover Hutson. Growing up in Hartburg, Texas, PEEWEE was a longtime resident of Orange, Texas where he was known and loved by many. He met the love of his life when he came to know, Jackie “Sharon” (Burch). The couple married on November 14, 1963. They shared 57 years of marriage but made a lifetime of memories, together with their three children. He was voted, Most Handsome, by his peers in high school, as well as most everyone he came across. He was a very respectful man of few words that was old school and very traditional in all aspects of his life. The way he raised his children, provided for his family and his outstanding work ethic were all just a direct reflection of the man that he was. Although he was strict, he was always a very loving and caring daddy to his children and they knew that.     “He raised them right!” PEEWEE loved his family and the Lord unconditionally. The family enjoyed spending time together going shrimping, fishing, camping. He enjoyed being on the water, just enjoying the great outdoors.

PEEWEE was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

PEEWEE is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Essie Hutson, as well as his brothers, Glen Hutson, Rex Hutson, W.H. Hutson and Douglas Hutson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57+ years, Jackie “Sharon” Hutson; children, James Edward “Bubba” Hutson, Jr. and wife Christy, Brenda Richard and husband Steven John, as well as Kimberly Hardin and husband James; sisters, Betty Storms, Ann Light and husband Mickey and Velda Knight; brothers, Earl Hutson and wife Justine, as well as Frank Hutson; grandchildren, Wayne Rogers, Crista Toldeo, Harley Jo Haymon, Shawn Hutson and Morgan Drake; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, as well as a host of family and friends.
