Jerry was born in Orange, Texas on Sunday, April 15, 1951, to parents, Ozie (Wood) and Mack B. Howeth. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Orange where he was known and loved by many. He was the owner and operator of, “Jerry’s Specialty Auto, Inc.”, for 37 plus years, where he was known by a majority of the Orange, Texas community, as well as, other surrounding areas. He was known not only to be a master mechanic or a jack of all trades, but also to be a kind hearted and very generous human to his customers. They weren’t just customers to Jerry though; they were friends and family and sometimes they were just humans that needed a break in life and he selfishly gave it to them. He was full of joy and life and he enjoyed every moment of it. Jerry met the love of his life when he came to know, Bobbie Jo (Maddox). The couple married on November 12, 1971 and shared 49 years of blissful marriage but made a lifetime of memories. When Jerry wasn’t working, he could be found cooking some of his world-famous barbeque or gumbo for the family on Sunday Fundays. When his loving wife, children and grandchildren were around, nothing else mattered because the most important people in his life were right there with him. You could also often find him lounging in and around his swimming pool while drinking his beer and listening to good music, enjoying life. When life allowed the time, he also like to go hunting and fishing as well. Jerry always said that one day he would like to drink a beer with Jesus. Cheers to that!

Jerry was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, great grandfather and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Bobbie Howeth; son, Marc Howeth and wife Angela; daughter, Mindy Stringfellow and Randy Dyer; brother, Jimmy Don Howeth and wife Mary Beth; sisters, Janice Trammel and husband M.A. Trammel, as well as, JoAnn Dunlap; grandchildren, Hunter Wolfford, Bailey Bouley, Dalton Stringfellow, Rhys Howeth and wife Kamri, as well as, Mason Howeth; one great granddaughter on the way, Phoebe Howeth, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Ozie Howeth, as well as, his brother, Jackie Howeth.

The family would like to send a special, Thank You, to all of the staff at, Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, for their wonderful care and compassion.
