John “Tommy” Thomas Stewart, Jr., age 81, of Orange, Texas, passed from this life on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Funeral services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at, 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow at, Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange, Texas.
Tommy was born in Humble, Texas on Saturday, September 23, 1939, to parents, John Thomas Stewart, Sr. and May Belle (Whittington). He was a longtime resident of Port Arthur, Texas where he was known and loved by many. He made his career working as an operator for Texaco, that was later changed to Motiva, from which he retired. Family was everything to Tommy and any chance that he got to spend quality time with them made his day. He loved his mother, May Belle, very much and enjoyed spending time with her and helping her with anything she needed done. Indulging in Wienerschnitzel, chocolate pies and watching the Cowboy’s play football on television were some of his regular, but favorite activities. He also liked to play 18 holes of golf every now and then, although he wasn’t quite at Tiger Woods’ level.
Tommy was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, May Belle and John Stewart, Sr.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Tara Greenwood and husband John, as well as, John Thomas Stewart III and wife Tracy; brother, Lawrence Stewart and wife Brenda; sisters, Kay Biggs and husband Reid, as well as, Vicki Brothers and husband Eric; grandchildren, Tyler Greenwood and Ashleigh Greenwood.
