Joseph Cecil Laroue

Joseph Cecil Laroue, age 91 of Orange, Texas, passed away in Vidor, Texas on Thursday, August 29, 2019. Services to honor Cecil's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Cecil was born in Zwolle, Louisiana on January 19, 1928 to Christine Austin Laroue and Joe Laroue. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Cecil was retired from Levingston Shipbuilding Company as a layout man. He and his wife, Jo Nell were faithful members for over 60 years at the First Pentecostal Church of Orange. Cecil always loved to go hunting, but fishing was his absolute favorite.  Cecil also loved his "Blue Goose", which was his 1968 Ford pickup that he bought new and had babied all these years.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Jo Nell Laroue, sons, Michael Laroue and Steve Allen Laroue, parents Joe and Christine Laroue, brothers; Charles Laroue, Curtis Laroue and LF Laroue and sisters, Hazel Burton and Mildred Houston.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Sondra Laroue and her husband Lesley of Orange, TX and Donna Granger and her husband Wayne of Port Arthur, TX, sister Etoise Nichols of Memphis, TN, grandchildren; Chris Laroue, Sherie Ardoin, Joleena West, Jamie Barnett, Rebecca Williams and her husband Cody and Hailey Wiggins and her husband Kenneth, great grandchildren; Stevie West, Xander West, Sawyer West, Raylee West, Whitley West, Lane Ardoin, Megan Ardoin, Kylah Barker, Colton Williams, Hayden Williams, Austin Williams, Braylon Wiggins and Brynlee Wiggins.
