Kenneth Burgess, JR

Kenneth “Kenny” Burgess, JR, age 57 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 in Port Arthur, Texas. Family and friends will gather for a visitation and sharing of memories from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Kenny was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 30, 1963 to Barbara Smith Burgess and Kenneth Burgess, SR. Kenny was a faithful and loyal employee in the maintenance department for Delta Downs. He earned numerous recognitions and awards for being the employee of the month and the employee of the year. Kenny was rewarded with a wonderful trip with his wife to Hawaii for his hard work.  He always had a way of demonstrating patience for everyone and everything. Kenny was a kind and gentle soul that was well liked by all that knew him.

He enjoyed watching his favorites, the Fighting Irish from Notre Dame, the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. Kenny enjoyed playing bingo with his wife, Cynthia, and spending time with their twin sons.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Barbara Burgess, SR and his brother Michael Arthur.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Cynthia Burgess of Orange, TX, sons Allen Burgess and his wife Alexis of Elkhart, IN and John Burgess of Orange, TX, his brother Alex Arthur of Elkhart, IN and two sisters, Carrie Keyser and her husband Randy “Poncho” of Cassopolis, MI and Barbara Wronka of Syracuse, IN.
