Kimberley Kay (Cox) Trahan

Kimberley Kay Trahan, age 52, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Mauriceville First Baptist Church in Mauriceville, Texas, with Pastor Brandon Hansen officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 14, 2018, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mauriceville First Baptist Church.

Kimberley was born on Thursday, November 4, 1965, in Orange, Texas to parents, Patricia (Dorman) and Philip G. Cox. She had been a lifelong resident of Orange, Texas and was very well known by the Orange, Texas community. She was a Christian woman with a heart of gold. Family and friendship was everything to Kimberley. She was a very kind hearted woman that never met a stranger and made so many friends throughout her life because of that. Although she only had one biological child, Kellie Soto, she claimed the hearts of many more. She was just like a second mother to so many precious children of friends and relatives. If there was a sick child in need of a doctor's visit, a babysitter, an extra parenting hand or anything of that nature, Kimberley was always the first person to volunteer to give her time and love. She was very involved in the Lorna Badon School of Fine Art in Orange for a period of time. She would help craft the dancers beautiful outfits by flawlessly placing the rhinestones and creating a gorgeous ensembles. If there was any kind of school function for her little loved ones, she was in attendance. She had a very special bond with her nephew, Brandon Cox, who loved her just as much as she loved him. Many people that knew Kimberley back from high school and into adult life have shared with the family how much Kimberley touched their lives by all the kindness she expressed and her wonderful giving spirit. The world truly needs more wonderful people like Kimberley. She always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude. Kimberley always valued little things in life that most sometimes overlook; such as, sitting and looking through old black and white photos and talking about the story behind the photo and things of that nature. She took a number of trips with her mother, Patricia, to many wonderful places and made a story book full of irreplaceable memories.

Kimberley is preceded in death by her grandparents, Hereward and Joy Dorman and Philip and Etha Cox.

Kimberley is survived by her beloved daughter, Kellie Soto and husband Anthony of Salem, Oregon; parents, Patricia and Philip Cox of Orange, Texas; brother, Kevin Cox and wife Claudine of Mauriceville, Texas; sister, Kristi Melonson and husband Wendell of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren, Aria Soto, Mila Soto and Freya Soto; nephew, Brandon Cox and niece, Olivia Hatton.

As a special tribute to Kimberley, the family would like to ask that everyone wear something with purple during the funeral services, as it was her very favorite color.
