L. Ray Holden Obituary

L. Ray Holden, age 60 of Deweyville, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 in Deweyville. A graveside service to honor Ray’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Hudson Cemetery with Pastor Tony Wilcoxson officiating. Dorman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ray was born in Orange, Texas on May 3, 1959 to Mildred Frances Folks Holden and Jack Douglas Holden, Sr. Ray had an amazing talent of being able to do just about anything he put his mind to; whether it was being a mechanic or brick layer. Ray enjoyed a life of fishing and boating on the Sabine River, but his favorite was white perch fishing. He could always be found in his yard piddling with some project that he had going on. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mildred Holden, Sr., and his brother Rickie Dale Holden.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Misty Holden of Deweyville, TX and Brandie Rae McCoy of Deweyville, TX, brother Jack Douglas Holden, Jr. and his wife Jan of Irene, sisters Lynn Day and her husband Randy of Orange, TX and Kay Smith and her husband Jerry of Lewisville, AR, grandchildren; Kyle Holden, Kelsey Rae Janise, Bailey Childers, Aaron Hyatt, Brooke Childers, Brittney Childers, Breanna Childers and Emberleigh McCoy, great grandchild Hagan Lee Janise and one to arrive in September.
