Lacy Melancon Obituary

Lacy Marie Melancon, age 30, of Orange, Texas, passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.  Services to honor Lacy will be held at 4:00 PM, on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Dorman Funeral Home.  Visitation of family and friends will be held prior to services, from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM, at Dorman Funeral Home.

On Thursday, August 27, 1992, Lacy was born to parents Tammy Lynn Melancon and Mark Melancon, in Orange, Texas. Lacy enjoyed a simple life; spending time in the country or at the beach collecting driftwood. She loved her plants and was known for having a tremendous green thumb. Lacy had a very big heart and being the animal lover that she was, it wasn’t uncommon to see her coming home with a sweet stray that she had found. Above all else, Lacy loved spending time with her family, especially her children. Lacy was a mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding Lacy in death are her son, Heston Gravett; Paternal Grandparents, Sharon and Donnett Melancon; Paternal Step-Grandfather, Gerald Hryhorchuk; Maternal Grandparents, Peggy Phillips and Richard Sneed; Maternal Step-Grandfather, Tommy Kibodeaux; Uncle Jimmy Melcancon and Uncle Mike Reed; and Aunt Donna Melancon.

Left to cherish her memory are her beautiful children, Ayden Chance, Destin Chance, and Jaylee Morrow; loving parents, Tammy Melancon and Mark Melancon; sisters, Kristi Melancon, Katy Melancon, Bailey Melancon, and Alyssa Stainsbury; brother, Joe Stainsbury; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family, and friends.

Lovingly written by a dear friend of the Melancon family:

I know the pain you feel is unbearable. That grief is all the love you have for Lacy, with no place for it to go. Grief is the ultimate price we pay, for having loved someone. Be at peace knowing that the pain is only ours. Lacy can’t feel it in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. You will grieve her until the day you die, but because of that, you will constanly be reminded that there is a GOD, in Heaven. There is a place you will go and be with her some day and it is where we belong. Lacy has never felt love and peace like her soul is feeling at this very moment; no worry, no anxiety, no hardship of any kind. I rejoice for Lacy because of what she’s experiencing right now. Her chains were broken and her burdens were lifted, as she entered those gates, to embrace our Heavenly Father, who loves her so much. God bless you!
