Lamurel Willey

Lamurel Willey, age 89 of Mauriceville, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020 at her home. Services to honor Lamurel’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Texas with Pastor Kevin Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Lamurel was a loving wife to Henry Lee Willey for 68 years. Her lifelong job was to take care of her husband and six children and she did it well. Lamurel loved to cook, quilt and fish. She was a collector of many things. Especially fabric for quilt scraps, crystal dishes, water pitchers and clothes. She loved to go shopping with her daughter Carolynette, and the always found a good deal. She also enjoyed looking out of the window at the cats and the trains going by. Lamurel loved her family and wanted everyone to be taken care of and not to be cold. She will be greatly missed but the ones she left behind will remember her forever. We love you Nanny.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Henry Lee Willey, Jr., daughter Carolynette Willey Kolb and her husband Donald, parents  Jesse Claimond and Ozella Raymond, brothers; Charlie Edward Raymond, Boyce Raymond and his wife Betty, Jesse “Bud” Raymond, Arnold Dean Raymond and his wife Bertha Lee, brother-in-laws Wayne Willey and his wife Leuvenia and Lindel Willey,  sister Margaritte “T-Bo” Brittian and her husband TO, sister-in-law Nell Willey, Leola Bond and her husband Bill, Bonnie Linscomb and Jordan and father & mother-in-law Henry and Lola Willey,

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons; Hershal Lee Willey and Rhonda of Mauriceville, TX, John Calvin Willey and his wife Pam of Orangefield, TX, Jesse Kevin Willey and Cary of Silsbee, TX and Jeremy Willey of Mauriceville, TX, daughter Nelwynn Kay Welsh and her husband Kenneth of Mauriceville, TX, sister-in-law Vivian “Sis” Raymond, brother-in-law Tommy Willey, thirteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her.

Pallbearers to honor Lamurel will be Hershal Willey, Chaz Hill, Clay Willey, Zachary Willey, Jeff Hill and Lynn Raymond.
