Laurie Burns

Laurie Annette Burns, age 56 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at her home. Services to honor Laurie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home with Rev. James Raymond, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Laurie was born in Waterloo, Iowa on October 19, 1963. Laurie was the salutatorian of her high school graduating class and enjoyed writing. She even won a trip to Ireland with her writings. Laurie was a mother to five boys that kept her busy throughout the years, but managed to find time to do her hobby of calligraphy. She was always ready for a fishing trip with her boys. Laurie loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Laurie loved her games and reconnecting with family and friends on facebook. She always had soft spot heart for animals, especially her dogs, Copper, Dee-oh-gee and Tinker Bell. But she loved her family the most; her boys and grandchildren meant the world to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Ellen Husby, Sr. and Norene Havellin and siblings Roger Husby, Jr. and Annette Havellin.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons; Marc Burns and his wife Stacie of Orange, TX, Kerry Burns, Jr. of Vidor, TX, Cody Burns and his wife Bridget of Orange, TX, Jacob Burns of Orange, TX and Chance Burns of St. Augustine, TX, brothers Hans Husby of Dayton, TX and Royce Havellin and his wife Missy of Mobile, AL, sister Melanie Barnes of Crosby, TX and her five grandchildren; Brianna Burns, Jameson Burns, Edyn White, Chloe Burns and Emmett Burns, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
