Lillie Mae Brown

Mrs. Lillie Mae Brown, age 85, of Orange, Texas, left this world on Monday, June 22, 2020, in Garland, Texas to return home to her Heavenly Father. Funeral services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, with Brother John Fortenberry officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will immediately follow services at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Lillie was born in Lufkin, Texas on Sunday, May 4, 1935, to parents, Poncie (Barrett) and Oscar Medlock. She graduated from West Columbia High School and later married her husband of 63 years, Robert Brown. She was a devoted wife, mother and Granny who wanted the best for all of her children and grandchildren. Lillie had a passion for capturing beautiful moments with photography. She taught a photography class where she passed that love onto others. She especially enjoyed photographing weddings and graduating seniors but most of all she loved taking photos of her family. When she didn’t have a camera in her hand, she found joy in the kitchen. She loved to bake and decorate cakes for special events such as weddings, birthdays and holiday events. She and the love she rendered to others will be greatly missed.

Lillie was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Lillie is survived by her son, Robert Allen Brown, Jr. and wife Karen; daughter, Robbie Alynn Brown; son-in-law, Bob Sims; sisters, Barbara Janise and husband Harry and Dorothy Wallase and husband Gordon; grandchildren, Brandon Sims and wife Tracie, Shikara Williams and husband Rodney, Christopher Hodgkinson, Reagan Ulrich and husband Joel; Bailey Brown, Ryan Brown and wife Paige, Kyle Brown and Sean Brown; along with her great grandchildren. Kristen Sims, Hunter Sims, Brayden Sims, Camden Morris, Colton Morris, Tayler Simms, Caden Ulrich, Ethan Ulrich, Dustin Williams, Jake Williams and wife Taylor, Haley Williams and Hadyn Williams.

Lillie is preceded in death by her parents, Poncie and Oscar Medlock; loving husband of 63 years, Robert Brown; daughters, Rhonda Kay Brown and Sherry Ann Sims.

Pallbearers honoring Lillie are, Brandon Sims, Hunter Sims, Brayden Sims, Ryan Brown, Kyle Brown and Sean Brown.
