Linda Ruth (Robbins) Hughes

Linda Ruth Hughes, age 77 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at her home. Services to honor her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home with her son, Pastor Bernard Woods officiating. Interment will immediately follow at King Cemetery. Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dorman Funeral Home.

Linda was born in Jasper, Texas on January 31, 1944 to Leola Gunter Robbins and Richard Coy Robbins. She was the executive director of the Orange Community Meals on Wheels Program. Linda had a kind gentle soul, who always had a smile for everyone. She enjoyed fishing and shopping every chance she got. She was a faithful member of Faith Harbor Church. Linda dearly loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren that she adored so much. She could always be found being the # 1 fan at their ballgames or whatever they had going on.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband A.B.  Hughes, daughters Dorothy Burch and Patricia Jo Weatherford, son-in-law Bobby Weatherford, parents Richard and Leola Robbins, brother Donald Coy Robbins and great grandson Mason Fitzgerald.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bernard Woods and his wife Sherry of Orange, TX and James Paul McCaskill of Orange, TX. Ten grandchildren; Melissa, Aaron, Adam,BJ, Jonathan, Michelle, Kristen, Kaitlyn, Beth and Maggie. Nineteen great grandchildren; Isaac, Reagan, Aubrie, Payton, Caleb, Colt, Cory, Luke, Zoe, McKayla, Gabe, Caden, Drake, McKenzie, Rylin, Sabrina, Emily, Wade and Meagan.

Pallbearers honor Linda will be Aaron Woods, Adam Woods, Jonathon Woods, Bobby Weatherford, Dewayne Brewer, Trey Lee, Arnold Burch and Ruston Linscomb.
