Lottie Mae (Strong) Hammett

Lottie Mae Strong Hammett, 90, of Orange left to be with the Lord on May 8, 2022. She was born to Fleta and Virgil Strong in 1931. She had 8 siblings who have all preceded her in death. She was married to James Earl Hammett, who preceded her in death, and they had four children. Veda Butler, John Hammett, married to Kim, Allison Jones, married to Chris and one other son. She had 10 grandchildren and several Great grandchildren.  She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Orange, Texas. 

Her funeral will be at Dorman Funeral Home on Thursday May 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM with visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Her pastor, Rev. Gary Wheeler will be officiating. Interment will be at Autumn Oaks Cemetery on Old Highway 90 following the funeral. 

All who really knew her called her Granny. She always had a hot meal waiting for whoever might drop by her home. You never went hungry at Granny’s house. The dementia robbed her of all her precious memories, but now she is whole again. We will all miss her greatly!

Pallbearers to honor Lottie will be Vick Butler, Bryan Butler, Ty Butler, Mason Butler, Clint Ray and Jason Hammett.
