Margie Edgington Obituary

Margie Lee Edgington, age 78 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in Port Arthur, Texas. Service to honor her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brooklyn Community Cemetery in Brooklyn, Texas at 1:00 PM. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Margie was born in Rison, Arkansas on August 26, 1943. Margie graduated from Lamar State College Beaumont and married Harold Orr Edgington, Jr. The couple made their home in the Orange area, where they raised their four children. Harold was a preacher which meant Margie had the great responsibly of ministering as well.  Margie was a kind and giving person, who was always ready to help others in need. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and fishing with her husband and family. Margie and Harold are probably fishing together in heaven. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Orr Edgington, Jr., daughter Helen Dellenger, two grandchildren, Cody and Joey Harvey, parents, Clyde and Eunice McKinney and brother Melvin McKinney.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Harold Edgington and his wife Sandy of Starks, LA, Thomas Edgington of Orange, TX and Celeste Breaux and Calvin Perkins of Orange, TX, eight grandchildren; Christian Harvey, Trey Reaves, Cassie Reaves, Chad Ferguson, Harold Edgington, Hannah Edgington, Ron Edgington and Riley Edgington, fifteen great grandchildren; Beonca Harvey, Cody LeJuhn, Jr., Conner LeJuhn, Calieb Gore, Nicholas Harvey, Audrey Edgington, Sawyer Edgington,  Wrenley Edgington, Jameson Edgington, Sarah Bates, Bryan Bates, JR Bates, Justin Ferguson, Erica Ferguson and Jessica Ferguson.

Pallbearers honoring Margie are, Ron Edgington, Chad Fontenot, Calvin Perkins, Harold Edgington, Thomas Edgington and Michael Riley.
