Mary was born in Livingston, Texas on September 19, 1948, to parents Melvin “Pete” Hooper and Margie Mae (Chandler) Hooper. Mary was a lifelong resident of Deweyville, where she was known and loved by many. She came to know the love of her life when she met Richard “Dickey” Seago. The couple married on May 17, 1968 and shared 52 years of blissful marriage and made a lifetime of memories. She was the family’s “Domestic Engineer” and without a doubt, the matriarch of the family. Mary was a true lady that always stood by her man and loved him unconditionally. She never let him go without a hot meal or a cold glass of tea. She was a Christian woman and a proud member of First Baptist Church Deweyville since 1997. Her life was spent giving of herself and her love to others. She taught her children, as well as anyone that would listen, to love everyone equally and that you are never better than anyone else. Mary was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Margie and Melvin Hooper; brother, Clarence Tatum and sister, Shirley Ann Foreman.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 52 years, Richard Seago of Spurger, TX; daughters, Tammera Elizabeth Seago of West Orange, TX, Shelly Ann Seago of Magnolia Springs, TX, Amanda Elizabeth Trahan of Orange, TX.; as well as many other adopted daughters and sons; sisters, Betty Jean Wilson and husband Ben; Sarah Lynn Whitney; Patsy Ann Garrison, Margie Tatum; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
