Mary Taggart

Mary Grace Taggart, age 64 of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 in Beaumont, Texas. A private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Mary’s’ life.

Mary was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma on May 16, 1955 to Vivian Marie Dowling Pugh and Albert Sidney Pugh III. Mary received her undergraduate from Mary Hardin Baylor and later went on to get her masters in criminal justice. Mary always took her job very serious and was able to work her way up to the Assistant Superintendent of the Texas Youth Commission. She loved her work with foreign exchange students. Mary was also a mystery shopper and she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and gardening. Mary had a wonderful smile and a zeal for life like no other and she will be greatly missed.

Mary is preceded in death by her wife Becky Earls, parents Albert and Vivian Pugh, III and brothers, Albert Sidney Pugh, IV, John Pugh and James Richard Pugh.

Survivors include her daughter Trisha Allison Taggart of Columbia, TN, son Jeffrey Hugh Taggart, Jr., sister Martha Lucille Davis of Alaska, sister-in-law Roberta Pugh of College Station, TX, mother-in-law Robbie Johnson of Gleason, TN, her dear grandchildren that she adored, Mary Allyson King, Sydney Briann King and Jeffrey Hugh Taggart III and numerous nieces and nephews.
