Obituary

Mayo “Skippy” Anthony Deville, III, age 60, of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 5, 2023, peacefully in his home.

A celebration of life, in memory of Skippy will be held at the Cowboy Church of Orange, 673 FM 1078, Orange, Texas on Sunday, October 1, 2023.  Visitation will begin at 12 (noon), with services to be held at 1:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.

Skippy was born on November 4, 1962, in Orange, Texas, to Mayo A. Deville, Jr. and Betty Wood Deville. He was employed with Orange Pump & Valve for over 30 years.  Later in life, Skippy held various construction jobs to keep himself busy. He was a kind, gentle man who enjoyed life.  He was known as a man of many stories, some factual and others not, but he always carried on a captivating conversation and never met a stranger.

Skippy had a passion for rodeos. He was a proud member of the Cowboy Church in Orange, where he could be found quite often.  He was deeply loved by his family and adored by many.

Preceded in death are his father, Mayo A. Deville, Jr. and his mother Betty Wood Deville.

Skippy Deville is survived by his loving aunt, Shirley Wood Hall, his uncle, Terrell Burch and numerous cousins who loved him dearly.

Honoring Skippy as Pallbearers are William Burch, Britt Wood, Theron Pool, Troy Pool, Robin Wallace, and Scott Coker.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cowboy Church, 673 FM 1078, Orange, Texas, in memory of Skippy.
