Michael Ray Norris

Michael Ray “Lone Star” Norris, of Deweyville, Texas, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July13, 2021. A memorial service to honor Michael’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on July 31, 2021 at his home.

Michael was born in Port Arthur, Texas on July 9, 1957 to parents Dorothy LaBleau Norris and Harold Norris. He was a hardworking man and he worked every day to provide for his family. He retired many years later from Daniels Construction. Michael was a fun-loving family man, who was always able to make friends wherever he went. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and building things. He used his talents of being able to work with wood to build beautiful crosses and birdhouses. Michael also grew wonderful vegetable gardens. He loved to go fishing every chance he got, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Norris and his sister Sandy Cain.

Those left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, Mary Ann Jenkins, son Travis Lee Jenkins, daughters Christie Jenkins and Nicole Hampton, nieces Melanie Horn and Tiffany Cain, brother-in-law Arthur Cain, six grandchildren; Bobby White III, Michael White, Allie Hampton, Lanceton Hampton, Raiden Hampton and Asa Jenkins, as well as many other family members and friends.
