Nels Louis Highberg

Nels “Gusto” Louis Highberg, age 66 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Orange, Texas. Arrangements were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home and a private memorial service will be held by the family, at a later date.

Nels was born on March 24, 1955, in Palacios, Texas, to parents, Ninetta Kathlene Simmons and Adolph Henning Highberg. He  was a motorcycle enthusiast, an avid collector of many different things that hit his fancy and struck a chord in him, Nels loved using his hands to create things such as wallets and necklaces. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Ninetta Highberg; brother, Eddie Simmons.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, John Highberg, of Mauriceville, Texas, Allen Highberg, of Atlanta, Texas, Adoph Highberg of Kansas, and Robbie, of Colorado; sisters, Loraine Barber, of Lufkin, Texas, and Vivian Courson, of Okeechobee, Florida; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
