Gaye was born in Orange, Texas on April 14, 1938 to parents, Mayme Ruth Williams Simar and James Roy Simar. She was a life-long resident of Orange and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Gaye married her High School sweetheart, Glenn on February 4, 1959 and the two shared 63 blessed years together. The couple had a daughter, Sharon, a granddaughter Kristi and three beautiful great granddaughters, which they were there for every step of the way while they grew up. Gaye and her daughter shared a love for tropical fish and owned Campbell’s Tropical Fish here in Orange. She loved her contrary cat “Louie”, her guardian dog Bella and raising beautiful cockatiels. Gaye took great pride in growing gorgeous flowers in her flowerbeds around her home. She was a wonderful cook. But, the thing she loved the most was her family and having her house full of laughter from the ones she loved. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew her kind and loving spirit.
