Paula Bean Obituary

Paula Suzette Bean, age 53, of Deweyville, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Paula was born in Oscoda, Michigan on Friday, September 30, 1966, to parents, Deloris E. (Hart) and Jimmie Lloyd Bean. She was an only child and the light of her parents lives. In 2004, Paula left Michigan and moved to Texas where she began a new chapter of her life. She became the manager of Cotton’s Cay bar in Orange, Texas, where she was known for running a tight ship and not putting up with any nonsense but also for being a kind, fun person. She was known to be a people person and a problem solver. Paula would organize benefits for people, no matter who it may be or what they needed help with and be able to draw in huge crowds to help support the cause. She was always thinking of others and putting them first. Even if it were to be a complete stranger that just needed to talk, Paula stopped whatever she was doing to listen to them and if need be, to help find a solution. Paula was always trusted be a great secret keeper for everyone as well. She was the long time, live in, care giver for the original owner of Cotton’s Cay, Clydee Burch. She was an APA Pool Player and played well over 1,000 games, as she was very good at it. She loved to go fishing and travel as much as possible. During her life, she also gained her Cosmetology license and was just a few credit hours away from completing her Business Management Degree from Lamar University. Being well put together and keeping herself up was always a top priority for her. Paula was a good person and a loyal friend throughout her whole life, from the time she was a child. She married her lifelong best friend and the love of her life, Mary Alexander on August 12, 2018. The couple shared a lifetime of memories with one another, traveling all over the place and seeing different things.

Paula was a loving daughter, step-mother, step-grandmother, niece and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Paula is survived by her loving wife and lifelong best friend, Mary Alexander; father and step-mother, Jimmie Bean and Ma Sherri; step-son, Christopher Alexander and wife Melissa; step-grandson, Phoenix; Sister-in-Law, Linda Goodwin; Brother-in-Law, Bubba Whitsitt and wife, Nedine; Aunts and Uncles, Beth Green, Linda Joslin and husband, Ed, Ottis and Brenda Bean, Bruce Bean, Nancy Sprinkle and husband, Daniel, Joyce Bulick and husband Michael, Harriet Moody and husband Gary, Lloyd Hart and wife Cheryl, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, and last but certainly not least, “her Mexican”, Chach Martinez.
