December 2, 1932 – March 3, 2024

Born to Francis Marvin Funchess and Claudia Stockman Funchess of Orange, Texas.  Peggy entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 1:10 AM March 3, 2024.  Services honoring Peggy will be held at Calvary Baptist Church - Deweyville, Texas, at 11:00 AM, Friday. March 8, 2024.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to service at Calvary Baptist Church - 2335 state highway 12, 77632 Deweyville, Texas 77632.

She is survived by: her husband of 75 years, Edmond Harry (Tobe) Frederick Jr.; Her sister, Edna Carper; Children, Elva Joyce Johnson (spouse Barry); Donna Gail Mitchell (spouse Clifton); Arthur Lee Frederick (spouse Nancy); Grandchildren, Carmen Bates, Jay Frederick, Katelyn Knibbe, Kimber Moffett, Austin Gomez, Katy Price, Laura Mayer, Chad Allmon, Sarah Black, Rachael Mitchell, Rebekah Michell, Hannah Mitchell Paizis, Katherine Earley, Lena Noble, Zoey Frederick. Many Great grandchildren, Great Great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her parents; her sisters, Suzanna Caroline (Essie) McDonald, Claudia Mary Clasby, Francis Marguerite Foster, Lucy Erma Lee Granger, Favious Anthelene Funchess, Eva La June Phelps, Emma Roselee Spears, Edith Bonnie Funchess, Charlotte Lois Franz and Janelle Aggerton; Brother, Marvin Wynne Funchess; Son, Frank Lynn Frederick and grandson, Jason Frederick. 

Peggy attended Orange High and continued her education in Bookkeeping at Pinehurst Business School. She was in musicals at the Orange Community Playhouse, a Sweet Adelines Member and a White Water Singers Member.  A frequent performer at the Ozark Folk Center, Arkansas, as well as choirs and sidewalk singers meeting up with musicians to sing under the stars. She played the Piano, Autoharp, Dulcimer and Harmonica.  Her crafting included sewing, crochet, needle point, knitting, cake decorating, candy making, canning fruits and vegetables, and making beautiful stained glass pieces for family and friends.  She made thousands of Christmas ornaments, loved to read and owned many books, enjoyed playing dominoes and working jigsaw puzzles.

Pallbearers: Jay Frederick, Hunter Frederick, Colton Bates, Jason Black, Jeremy Jacobs, and Billy Bayliss.

Pastor John Fortenberry will officiate the service.
