Rena (Joanne) Joan (Hood) Padgett

Rena Joan (Joanne) Hood Padgett, 79 years old of Orange Texas, died Sunday August 2, 2020. She was born in Canton, Texas to Herbert E. Hood and Vera Watkins Hood.

She grew up in Orange Texas. She met her husband George Pixley Padgett as a young girl and decided one day she would marry him and she did. They enjoyed 56 years together. She has a passion for gardening as displayed in their beautiful yard. She also loved all animals big and small. One of her greatest pastimes was spending time with her loving neighbors, especially after being widowed. They were a great comfort and help to her.

She is preceded in death by H. E. Hood Sr. and Vera Hood. Brother H. E. Hood Jr., her Husband George Pixley Padgett and Son Scott Padgett.

Cremation will be handled by Dorman Funeral Home in Orange Texas. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations to be made on behalf of her to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas. P.O. Box 1629, Beaumont Texas 77704.
