Richard Paige Gunn

Richard Paige Gunn Sr., age 78, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 27, 2023 surrounded by family. Public visitation to honor Richard will be at Dorman Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 11:00AM with services following at noon.

Richard was born on Wednesday, November 29, 1944 in Orange, Texas to parents Maxine Stites and Harry Gunn. He was a very loving man who loved his family dearly. He and the love of his life, Brenda Labry, were married for 55 wonderful years. He loved keeping up the swimming pool for his grandkids and great grandkids. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He also loved to dance.

Richard was a hard working man that loved the steel fabricating industry. He started as a shop clerk and worked his way up, becoming a fabricator, supervisor, QA/QC manager, and ended his career as an estimator.

Richard was a husband, son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend whose memory will last forever by all who knew him.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Harry Gunn, his sister, Shirley Bendy, and his brother, Michael Gunn.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Brenda Gunn, his son, Rickey Gunn and wife, Cookie, his grandchildren, Tammy Jarreau and husband, Joe, Jon Gunn and wife, Megan, Tony Duran, Lauren Dalton and husband, Jake, and Hope Gunn, his great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Jarreau, Krystal Jarreau, Karsyn Jarreau, Kortni Gunn, Maci Mince, Lane Gunn, Abigail Denby, Lily Denby, Elijah Denby, Kaylee Dalton, Brooklyn Dalton, and Evelyn Rodriguez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to his Go-Fund-Me account.

Honorary pallbearers are David Desormeaux, Bobby Cloud, Jimmy Guidry, Jon Gunn, Joe Jarreau, and Tony Duran.
