Richard Allen Hargrave

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at, Mauriceville Assembly of God Church, in Mauriceville, Texas, on September 23, 2021. Visitation for family and friends will be held from, 10:00 am until 11:00 am, with services beginning at, 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow services at, Toledo Bend Cemetery. Officiating will be longtime pastor and good friend, Dr. James David Brown, as well as Richard and Teresa’s Pastor, Pastor JR Armstrong. Services are under the direction of, Dorman Funeral Home.

Richard A. Hargrave was born in Port Arthur, TX on December 1, 1952 to, Leonard William Hargrave (Sr.) and Ella Marie (Bennett) Hargrave. He grew up in Bridge City, TX with his 2 brothers and 1 sister, Leonard “Butch”, Robert Hargrave and Janet Shue. He especially loved his grandmother, Clara Hargrave, even living with her for a time. Richard served in the United States Navy for 7 years before returning to South East Texas and meeting the love of his life and now wife of 43 years, Teresa. Working as a Master Carpenter, he and Teresa raised their two girls, Melonee, now married to Brian Fife and Melinda, now married to Tom Klein. They enjoyed spoiling their 3 grandchildren, Keagan, Keleigh and Gatlin. He was a mighty man of God who graduated. He is now with his Lord and King, his friend, Jesus.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife of 43 years, Teresa Hargrave; their 2 daughters and their families, Melonee, Brian and Gatlin Fife, as well as Melinda, Tom, Keagan and Keleigh Klein; his brother, Robert (Robby) and wife, Lisa (Kim) Hargrave; his in-laws, Dale and Rebecca Howell; brothers-in-law, James and John Howell and their wives and children, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Pallbearers honoring Richard are, Robert (Robby) Hargrave, Sr., Brian Fife, Thomas Klein, James Howell, Anthony Shue, Robert Flores, Joseph "Jeff" Woods and John Howell.

Honorary Pallbearers are, William (Bill) Klein and Dale Howell.
