Richard "Tommy" Cooper Obituary

Richard “Tommy”  Cooper, age 75 of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022 in Beaumont, Texas. Family and friends will gather for a memorial visitation from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Tommy was born on August 17, 1946 in Muskogee County, Georgia to parents, Elizabeth May Cooper and Richard Hollis Cooper. Tommy proudly served as a machinist in the United Sates Navy. He met and married his beautiful wife, Frances Diane O’Brien Cooper and they two shared over 50 wonderful years together. Tommy was an excellent machinist and boilermaker who retired after working over 40 years in the SETX. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father that believed in working hard to provide for his family. Tommy enjoyed days at the range shooting and picking brass. He also enjoyed hunting and flounder fishing. Tommy had wonderful sense of humor and certainly never met a stranger. He always made a point to make his rounds to meet and talk to his friends. Tommy was a loving husband, father and friend that will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Francs Cooper, parents Richard and Elizabeth Cooper and sister Jean Robinson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Richard G. “Ricky” Cooper and his wife Delilah of Shreveport, LA and Robert Thomas Cooper and his wife Elena of Orange, TX and four grandchildren; Thomas James Cooper, Ronald Alexander Cooper, Emily Elena Cooper, Keyla Emily Cooper Bradley Burgess, and Justin LaFitte and great grandson Brantley Turner.
