Robert Reeves Lynch, age 85 of Orange, Texas, went to heaven surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at his home. A graveside service to honor his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange, Texas with Rev. Keith Meyer officiating. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Dorman Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.
Reeves was born in Shelbyville, Texas on December 15, 1934 to Johnnie Belle English Lynch and Rufus Elton Lynch. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Reeves married the love of his life, Ann Lynch and the couple made their home in Orange for the next 57 years. He was a member of Old First Orange Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Reeves retired after 30 years from the State of Texas Highway Department as a road and bridge inspector. Reeves had a kind and gentle spirit and was known for baking his chocolate pies with the perfect meringue on top and his pockets full of candy that he kept for everyone. He enjoyed wood working and built beautiful bird houses and wooden turkeys. Reeves spent many hours sitting and whittling his walking canes. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Johnnie Belle Lynch.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Ann Lynch of Orange, Texas, three children; Reeanna Lucia, Angie Theriot and her husband Guy and Tom Lynch and his wife Julie, sisters, Francis Ming and Sadie Gandy, six grandchildren; Elena Corkern and wife Mollie, JD Morris, Cade Theriot, Kellie Theriot, Kenna Mata and Kittie Byrd and numerous great grandchildren.
Pallbearers honoring Reeves will be Cade Theriot, JD Morris, James Lucia, Guy Theriot, Ryan Menard and Willie Winfree.
