Sherry Ann (Brown) Sims

Sherry Ann Sims, age 60, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018, in Beaumont, Texas. Funeral arrangements, made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at 10:00 AM, with Pastor John Fortenberry officiating, at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Visitation of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, from 5:00 until 9:00 PM at Dorman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Wilkinson Cemetery in Orange, Texas.

Sherry was born on Monday, December 2, 1957, in Warton, Texas to parents, Lillie (Matlock) and Robert Alan Brown, SR. She had been a 50 plus year resident of Orange, Texas before moving from Warton, Texas. She was a Christian woman of the Baptist faith, with a heart of gold. Sherry found the love of her life when she married Robert Sims. They were married for 42 blissful years. She was a very caring and loving woman who loved her family and friends. Family was everything to Sherry and she wouldn't ever tolerate someone putting them down or "messing with them". Her grandchildren, who called her Granna, were the light of her life and she made sure they knew it. If there was a sporting event or school event that the grandchildren were involved in, she was there supporting them always. When Sherry had a little time, she liked to hit the casinos to see if she could hit the big one. Cooking was something she excelled at and loved doing. If you ever needed advice about anything, Sherry was known for giving the very best advice and being a peace maker for everyone. Sherry was a wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt and a friend. She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.

Sherry is preceded in death by her sister, Rhonda Kay Brown.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert Sims; parents, Lillie and Robert Brown; children, Brandon Sims and wife Tracie of Orange, Texas, Shikara Williams and husband Rodney of Deweyville, Texas; brother, Robert Brown, JR. and wife Karen of Lake Jackson, Texas; sister, Robbie A. Brown of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Dustin Williams and fiancé, Stephanie, Jake Williams and wife Taylor, Colton Morris, Kristen Sims, Hunter Sims, Brayden Sims, Camden Morris, Hadyn Williams and Haley Williams, as well as a host of family and friends.
