Shirley Haymon Obituary

Shirley Jean Haymon, age 80, of Orange, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas with Reverend Brad Bickham officiating services. Interment will immediately follow funeral services at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020, at Dorman Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Shirley was born on Monday, March 20, 1939 in Carrollton, Mississippi to parents, Eva (Goss) Turner and Eugene C. Turner. Shirley was a longtime resident of Orange, Texas after moving from Mississippi as a young girl. She loved spending quality time with family whenever life allowed her the opportunity. Shirley also enjoyed going gambling and her favorite was the horse races. She was pretty good at picking out the winners of each race. Whether she won or not though, Shirley always had a winner’s attitude. The same thought process was used in all aspects of her life. It made her a very special and enjoyable person. She was a very unique lady who never met a stranger and loved life. Shirley was a retired beautician and business owner who was made lots of lifelong friends while doing so. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Shirley is survived by her loving children, Ronnie Haymon and wife Samantha, Steve Nester and wife Susan, Harold Haymon, Jr., Bridget Marcellian and husband Miquell; grandchildren, Roman Tuff Haymon, Broc Haymon, David Shay, Kylee Marcellian, Harley Haymon, Steve Nester, Jr., Amanda Rueda, as well as 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Homer Turner and wife Connie, as well as, Grover Turner and wife Teresa.

Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Harold Haymon; parents, Eugene and Eva Turner; daughter, Janis Nester Shay; grandchild, Chad Shay; brothers, JT Turner, Cleveland Turner, Leroy Turner, Billy Turner, Quincy Turner, EC Turner; sisters, Helen Nester, Clara Turner, Lavern Turner, Vivian Turner, Elise Turner and Lilly Mae Turner.

Pallbearers honoring Shirley; Roman Tuff Haymon, Broc Haymon, Carson Miguez, Adam Snyder, Norman Jones and Bobby Turner.
