Stancil “Stan” Gilliam, Jr., age 72, of Orange, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020. Graveside services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Pitkin, La.
Stan was born on Monday, February 2, 1948, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to parents, Doris (Lollar) and Stancil Gilliam, Sr. Stan was a longtime resident of Orange, Texas after moving from Port Arthur over 55 years ago. Stan enjoyed working on cars, attending the drag races, as well as the horse races and going fishing, whenever life allowed. He was a very loved brother and although they could never get him to change his ways, they loved him anyway.
Stan was a loving father, husband, son, brother and grandfather, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Stan is survived by his son, Bradley Gilliam; daughter, Angela Cropper; sisters, Barbara White, Patricia Lacouture and Cherry Maricle; brothers, Jimmy James and Johnny James; grandchildren, Kody Cropper, Devaughn Gilliam, Deyawnte’ Gilliam and Ariana Gilliam.
Stan is preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Annie Gilliam, as well as his parents, Stancil and Doris Gilliam.
