Susan Gale Scott Burch

Susan “Susie” Scott Burch passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at her home. Services Honoring her Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 12:00pm -2:00pm on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel.

Susan “Susie” was born in Orange, Texas on November 3, 1946 to Edred Haddon Scott and Lillian Frankie Hemmenway.  She married James Bruce Burch on October 7, 1989, making this, according to Sheri 30 loong years. Susie was an angel to all of those she would meet as she had very giving heart. She was caring, thoughtful, and according to Lynda “she would give the shirt off of her back to those in need.” Susie was all about her family making her the backbone of her family. She became the caregiver to her father and sisters during their illness. Her favorite past time was holding a conversation with everyone she would met.

  She is preceded in death by her parents, Edred Haddon and Lillian Frankie Scott; sisters, Helen Retha Davis, Mona Joy McShan, and Azalea Ray Thrailkille; and a brother, Joseph Howard Scott.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, James Bruce Burch; daughters, Lynda Teal of Batavia, IL, Vena Shaw, and husband, Dennis, of Orange, TX, Denise Teal of Orange, TX, Sheri Huckaby of Orange, TX, and Leisha Myers of Orange, TX; grandchildren, Adam Hughes, and wife Cierra, of Orange, TX, D.J. Kourtney, and wife, Amber, of Orange, TX, and Skylar Trahan, and husband, Ryan, of Bridge City, TX; great grandchildren, Alayna Hughes, Alissa Hughes, Kaytlyn Kourtney, Bella Shaw, Emma Shaw, and Harper Trahan.
