Susan was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on Saturday, June 27, 1953 to, Pearl Mary (Rabalais) and Lee Roy Joseph Duprie. A lifetime resident of Orange, Texas, Susan was known and loved by many. Over the years Susan made her living wherever she felt she was most beneficial to the job. Working for Craft Oil, Co., LCM High School while her sons were in attendance there, as well as Orange County Sheriff’s Office, were all jobs that she very much enjoyed. Sometimes known as a bit of a “drill sergeant”, Susan was a very laid back, go with the flow type of person, as well as a wonderful mother. Her sons, Kyle, Kevin and Ryan Skinner were her absolute pride and joy but her grandchildren were the light of her life. Susan’s love for her family was unconditional. She loved her plants, flowers, fruit trees and diet cokes. Undoubtedly, you could always find her couponing at all the local grocery stores and anywhere that packs of diet coke were on sale, daily. CVS and Walgreens were a hot spot since the boys were little. You need not worry about missing those sales either because Susan was never going to forget to call the entire “grapevine” and let them know when, where and how much she already purchased. She was a very kind, loving and thoughtful lady whom didn’t just do for herself, but for others as well. It was never uncommon for her children to find bags of goodies that she had purchased that day sitting on their doorsteps. The reality was, that it was actually all for the grandchildren, and they knew it! Susan was a wonderful cook and loved trying new recipes and then sharing them with others. Holidays were her favorite time of year for many reasons, but the main one being the time that she got to spend with her family. She also enjoyed the occasional video poker, casino trip and shrimp burger to follow.

Susan was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Pearl Duprie; daughter-in-law, Brandi Skinner, as well as her nephew, Brent Duprie.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Kyle Skinner and wife Kala, Kevin Skinner and wife Abbie, Ryan Skinner and wife Chelsea; brother, Lee Roy Joseph Duprie, Jr. and wife Cornelia; sister, Carolyn “Sissy” Fenton; grandchildren, Cace Skinner, Halle Skinner, Gracelynn Smith, Reece Skinner, Drake Skinner, Kooper Skinner and Dawson Skinner; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Brown, Chad Fenton and Brian Duprie, as well as a host of family and friends.
