Virge Ray Bagesse, Sr., age 76 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 in Beaumont, Texas. A funeral service to honor Virge will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Cowboy Church of Orange with Pastor Dale Lee officiating. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Dorman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Virge was born in Ranger, Texas on February 6, 1946 to parents, Lois Harrell and Carl Bagesse. Virge had been a resident of Orange since 1955 and was a faithful member of Cowboy Church of Orange. He retired from the Citgo Refinery in Lake Charles, Louisiana after 52 years of service as an API Inspector. Virge liked to go fishing in his spare time, but mostly he loved spending time with his family. His family meant the world to him. He was the kind of dad, who didn’t just take his son to karate lessons; he took lessons with his son. Virge loved to dance to Elvis and all the good oldies with his sweetheart of 56 years, Gerri. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed attending games with his family. Virge was a strong will person that had a giving soul. He was a meticulous in his ways, but was always willing to help others. Virge will be greatly missed by all those he impacted with his love and friendship.
He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Bagesse and his wife Rena, mother Lois Harrell, father-in-law and mother-in-law Ernest and Lucille Gauthier, Sr. and brother-in-law Ernest Gauthier, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Geraldine Bagesse of Orange, TX, daughters, Carlette Johnson and her husband Reginald of Victoria, TX and Telisa White and her husband John B. of Silsbee, TX, son Virge Bagesse, Jr. brother Robin Bagesse and his wife Katheryn of San Augustine, TX, sisters Beverly Rogers and her husband Brett of Midland, TX and Teresa Bagesse of Victoria, TX, brothers Daryl Bagesse and his wife Dee of San Antonio, TX and David Bagesse of Richmond, TX, brother-in-law Mike Gauthier and his wife Kathy of Orange, TX, sister-in-law Judie Lindsey and her husband Dennis of Orange, TX, eight grandchildren; Meagan Sowell and her husband Steven, Andrew Chesson and his wife Melissa, Dustin Chesson and his wife Anna, Caelen Johnson, Jaelah Johnson, Nate White, Jaxon White and Taylin White, eight great grandchildren; Tripp Sowell, Kessler Sowell, Aiden Sowell, Ava Sowell, Ariel Chesson, Kenshin Bordelon, Kaleb Bordelon and Mabel Chesson,
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to a charity of choice.
Pallbearers to honor Virge will be Robin Bagesse, Daryl Bagesse, David Bagesse, Dustin Chesson, Reginald Johnson and Steven Sowell. Honorary pallbearers will be Virge Bagesse, Jr., Andrew Chesson, John White, Nate White, Mike Gauthier, Dennis Lindsey and LJ Castille.
