Obituary

Wanda Onita Caruthers, age 82, of Vinton, Louisiana, passed from this life on Monday, October 26, 2020. Funeral services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, October 30, 2020 with Pastor Ryan Chandler officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from, 9:00 AM until service time at, Dorman Funeral Home, in Orange, Texas. Interment will follow services at, Nibletts Bluff Cemetery, in Vinton, Louisiana.

Wanda was born in Florien, Louisiana on Tuesday, February 8, 1938, to parents, Arthur and Myrtle Rhodes. Wanda became a lifelong resident of Vinton, Louisiana after moving from Florien, Louisiana. She was full of life and enjoyed every moment of it. Wanda could often be found tending to her flower gardens, as well as, cooking. She was a wonderful cook, whom thoroughly enjoyed doing so for family and friends. Spending quality time with her children and grandchildren was at the very top of her list when it came to her favorite things to do in life. She was the very best and most loving mother a child could be blessed with. Wanda was a very hard worker inside as well as outside of the home and spent many years doing just that, working for Kroger, before retiring. When she was younger, she loved to travel and see things and places that she never had never seen before.

Wanda was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Randy Caruthers and wife Lynn; daughters, Gayla Zirlott and husband Ricky, as well as, Rene Johnson and husband Doug; siblings, Dorothy Farmer and husband Carroll, as well as, Norma Hallmark; grandchildren, Naomi Ramm, Crystal Ewing, Chris Moore, Jennifer Parker, Becca Butler and Melissa Ancelet, as well as, 10 great grandchildren.

Wanda is preceded in death by, Arthur and Myrtle Rhodes; father of her children Norman Caruthers; sister, Faye Womack; half-sister, Iva Lee Davis; half-brothers, Harold Rhodes and Wayne Rhodes, as well as, Grandson, Blake Moore.

The family would like to send a special, Thank You, to all of the wonderful staff at, Sabine Place, in Orange, Texas, for taking such loving and genuine care of Wanda, the entire time that she was in their care.
